This discussion is all about performance management
awhile back we were very much content driven, in the last decade things have changed, it isn't all about content, it is about application design.
The browser has changed, it is now a "platform" that can do many things interacting with the server, it doesn't just serve up pages from the server like in the netscape days
Complexity is increasing on the web dramatically
hosting is changing as well (cloud)
